What is Sensedia API Pulse?

This tool helps you assess the current status of your APIs on the Sensedia Platform at no cost. Its main objective is to deliver actionable insights to improve API maturity across three fundamental pillars: governance, security, and observability.

How Sensedia API Pulse works

It operates by connecting to your API management environment through internal APIs. It retrieves API metadata, evaluates it against a set of best practice rules, and provides recommended actions. The process is transparent and collaborative, involving four main stages:

1. Scheduling: Simply request your Customer Success Manager to schedule the assessment
2. Execution: Our specialists run the evaluation tool together with the client
3. Review: We conduct an internal review of the generated insights
4. Recommendations: Finally, we present recommended optimization actions to clients

The assessment begins by surveying and understanding the client's environments on the Sensedia Platform, identifying which are in use for production or non-production. Next, we list and prioritize APIs, focusing on the most important ones, ideally from production environments, to execute the evaluation.

The tool then applies the set of best practice rules, evaluating API and Plan metadata to generate actionable recommendations aimed at enhancing maturity in governance, security, and observability.

Technology and security behind Sensedia API Pulse

Customer data security and privacy are our priority. Sensedia API Pulse is powered by AI technology, utilizing a Large Language Model (LLM) augmented with Sensedia API management-specific best practices. It connects securely to Sensedia's internal API management APIs. Reinforcing our commitment to security:

• Only with client consent: An authorized user on the Sensedia Platform generates an access token for assessment execution, which can be revoked at any time
• Metadata only: Sensedia API Pulse collects only API metadata through internal APIs, with no data updates
• Sensedia-exclusive use: The Sensedia API Pulse user interface is accessible only to authorized Sensedia employees
• Hosted on managed cloud services: Sensedia API Pulse components run on compute services in a Sensedia-owned AWS account
• Private LLM usage: We use a private model (Amazon Bedrock Claude 3.7 Sonnet) from our AWS account
• Chat history: Chat history is stored in an internal managed database in our AWS account and used only to generate the recommendation document, being periodically purged
