Company Background:

Sensedia resulted from 4 years of R&D in partnership with UNICAMP (a renowned Brazilian University) and Ci&T (Brazilian IT company specialized in outsourcing services, development and integration of applications with a global presence).

The company, incorporated in 2007 as a spin-off of Ci&T, is headquartered in Campinas, located one hour away from São Paulo.

In 2007, the company also received investments from the Novarum Fund, managed by Jardim Botânico Partners, the first Brazilian seed capital fund exclusively devoted to investing in start-ups with a strong R&D background.

In January 2008, the company worked with MIT to establish its entry strategy in the US and identify potential partners and investors.

	Fernando Matt - CEO. Founder and Partner of Sensedia. Holds a Degree in Computer Engineering from UNICAMP and an MBA from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV). Matt is also the Co-Founder and CFO of Ci&T (a Brazilian IT services company, CMMI-5 certified). Ci&T is the only Brazilian company in the 2008 Global Outsourcing 100 by Fortune Magazine.
	Leonardo Mattiazzi – VP of Business Development. Responsible for setting up the business unit at Ci&T (Parent Company) that gave rise to Sensedia. Holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from UNICAMP and is completing an Executive MBA at Temple Fox Business School. Mattiazzi is in charge of the International Businesses Development, and is responsible for setting up and managing Sensedia North-American subsidiary.
	Kleber Bacili – CTO. Responsible for product development and operations at Sensedia. Holds a degree in Computer Engineering from UNICAMP and an MBA from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV). Bacili is a SOA expert with published articles in various international events. He is also a professor on SOA and component based development at renowned Universities.
	Sensedia also counts with the expertise from the Novarum Fund. The fund is composed by a team of senior professionals with over ten years of experience in M&A, asset management, investment analysis, capital market regulations, corporate finance and diligence - in both the public and private sectors.

Partnership with Brazilian Innovation Agencies

The Brazilian Government is strongly committed to fund R&D in the technology sector in Brazil. As a consequence, Sensedia counts with government grants and partnerships with Innovation Agencies for R&D investments. This enables the company to largely invest in innovation while still having resources to invest in company growth and market expansion.

The partnership with Fapesp (The State of São Paulo Research Foundation) funds research in the areas of Web 2.0/3.0, service oriented architecture, software reuse and asset management. The partnership will total U$2 million in investments. The projects are funded by the agency and Sensedia and are conducted between renowned universities (including PhD students) and Sensedia research team. This partnership further proves the commitment from the Brazilian government and Sensedia with innovation.
