R&D Overview

Sensedia combines innovative technology, IT market expertise and partnerships with brazilian Universities to offer high quality and innovative products, enabling companies to effectivelly manage their software development assets.

Sensedia is an example of how widely applicable products can be delivered to market as a result of well-defined research, done in an environment that fosters innovation. Innovation is literally part of the Sensedia culture because the company was born as a result of R&D investments from business in partnership with renowned universities.

The company is well aware that R&D is crucial to design valuable products and achieve long-term success. For this reason, Sensedia makes large investments in R&D, counts with government funding and created the Sensedia Labs in partnership with a renowned university, Unicamp. The Sensedia Labs conducted with researchers driven by innovation is highly valuable for the quality of the company’s products. The researchs includes Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web 2.0/3.0, UDDI virtualization, P2P sharing, cloud computing, tagging and folksonomy and software as a service (SaaS).

Recognition

Sensedia products have been presented in international events and won various quality awards in Brazil.

In the US, the research on sharing and managing software development assets was presented at the 2006 OOPSLA (ACM SIGPLAN International Conference on Object-Oriented Programming Systems, Languages and Applications) in Portland, Oregon. In 2007, the research on automatic identification of assets was presented in the Canadian edition of the event. Sensedia was also invited to give a presentation of the Sensedia Discoverer at the IRI 2007: “The IEEE International Conference on Information Reuse and Integration," one of the most important events on software reuse in the world and sponsored by the IEEE SMC Society.

In Brazil, the company won two highly respected quality awards from the Ministry of Science and Technology for its research on Component Sharing Peer-to-Peer Network (RCCS) and the Automatic Identification of Assets (IACS). In 2008, Sensedia was chosen as one of the 25th most innovative companies in Brazil.
